I’ve been doing alot of reading lately , to the point it’s become an obsession or something slightly close to it :) I might be doing things backwards though, I watched the movie Persuasion and fell in love with the love story, then went and read the book and fell more in love with the story. Anne Elliot was in love with a young naval officer Fredrick Wentworth. Fredrick being of no kind of rank or fortune was looked down upon by Anne’s prideful rich father, and her good friend and confidant Lady Russel. When Fredrick proposed to Anne it was Lady Russel who persuaded Anne not to be engaged with Fredrick. Fredrick being heart broken left back for the war. Fast forward eight years, Anne hasn’t spoken with him since and everyday she regrets the decision she made. Like a sudden shift of the Gods, Anne’s father is now losing his fortune due to his high maintenance living and Fredrick now CAPTAIN Fredrick Wentworth is a now rich and powerful Naval Captain, having won his fortune through the war. The Elliots decide to have their home rented out so they can still own it but have money come in. The tenants of Kyllench Hall are Admiral and Mrs. Croft. Mrs.Croft is Captain Wentworths sister. Ironic RIGHT ?? Well anyways the whole book is telling the story of how awkward and hard it is for them to be so near eachother all the time, without thinking of the past. Capt. Wentworth at first is rude to her, still hasn’t forgave her for breaking his heart so long ago. Anne feeling worse than anyone could ever feel because she knows she made the biggest mistake of her life. But in the end, they both realize how much they still love eachother and get married :) One of my favorite books from Jane Austen :)
